Since 1953, the Rowland Water District (RWD), located in Rowland Heights, California, has been serving high quality potable water to approximately 58,000 people in a 17.2 square mile area in Southeastern Los Angeles County.
The Rowland Water District has developed a Recycled Water Master Plan which identifies specific customers that can best utilize recycled water. The Plan also includes the expansion of the existing recycled water distribution system that will provide recycled water for large irrigation customers such as parks, school grounds and agricultural areas.
In April of 2009, RWD began retrofitting existing irrigation systems that use potable water and converting them to recycled water. The District is currently using our Carson brand Reclaimed Water spec grade plastic irrigation boxes for their conversion project in Rowland Heights. To date they have completed over 45 sites with plans to complete another 200 sites by 2012.
