Oldcastle Precast - Amcor, Metal Fabrication division was started as an augmentation to the corrugated steel pipe division which had been in business since the early 1930's. It came about by the need for Frame & Covers for the burgeoning Communications market in the 1980's. The corrugated steel pipe division was sold in 2004 which left quite a space for the Metal Fabrication production to grow and develop. The demand in the precast market for other fabricated items such as Frame & Grates, Vent Tubes, Ladders and other ancillary products have expanded our offerings and helped us develop into other material types and coatings.
We specialize in Frames and Covers for the PEC (Power, Electrical, Communication) Markets. However these products can be used in just about any application for a frame & cover. They are hinged for an 180 degree opening, this gets the door out of the way for cable running and offers safety from a door shutting unexpectedly. The covers also bolt down to the frame for security and to ensure the covers stay closed when you need them to. For applications where the Frame & Cover are slipped into an opening in an existing or precast box, we supply a slotted skirt underneath the frame which allows for height and slope adjustment with the installation of a bolt and lug in the concrete wall.
